The miracle mystery lubricant known as “Froglube”

Froglube isn’t all that new on the market, but for some reason many people have not yet heard about it, or it’s merits… I’m going to share with you my personal experiences, and our friend Captain Berz provides a video for suppliment.  I’m proud to announce with this writing that Domari Nolo Outfitters will be offering Froglube products in our store beginning very soon!

There’s quite a difficult job ahead of you if one decides to investigate the origins of this lubricant… I’ll give you the short version, and some conjecture, and let you chase your tail if you really insist.

The story I have read most places is that Froglube was invented by former SEAL Captain Larry Lasky, who developed the product based on his observed needs and experiential knowledge. (sound familiar?)  The legend goes on to say that currently SEALs are using Froglube, and are responsible for the initial field testing.  (Edit to add:  I just found a James Yeager video with Larry talking about the product, below.  While I’m not a giant fan personally of Mr. Yeager, he did deliver the goods on this item.)

There is another version that speculates that Froglube is simply a repacked and relabeled product for lubricating roller coaster tracks called “track lube”.   The story continues that Capt. Lasky was signed on for his reputation and SEAL status in order to market the product.  There is a lot of empirical evidence that some of both stories are true- again, if one chooses to chase their tail…
I could care less what the product was originally intended for- as Captain Berz titles his video, “It just works!”…

As Berz mentions, Froglube is not just useful for firearms, it is also a fantastic product to maintain knives and tools.  I am using Froglube exclusively on my TOPS Fieldcraft B.O.B. knife (that I will be reviewing, as well as hopefully bringing to our store- I’m that impressed already!) to maintain and protect the high carbon steel.  I will report on long term usage in an AR and an AK rifle as well- both test beds that are being run exclusively on Froglube.

I have had nothing but good experience with Froglube.  My first experience was a year ago almost, at a gun show locally, where a vendor was demonstrating this amazing product.  The biggest benefit I saw at that time was the water resistance of the product, the safety that it’s all-natural, non-toxic formula provides, and the ease of application.  I have to tell you- not having to run a gun “wet” is actually counter-intuitive to me, but again- it just works!  I have had no issues thus far, and can now clean my firearms bare handed with confidence.  I am a father, and my children are exposed to firearms regularly… This product is completely safe- and takes the riskiest component out of the equation when it comes to children of responsible parents who happen to own firearms.  That is a huge bonus in my world.  My wife is a big fan of the minty aroma- which is actually a pleasant one compared to the typical solvents and lubricants used in conjunction with such tools.

Now you have the basics, and a few opinions on this outstanding lubricant: Froglube.  I’m certain it will merit mention again and again in our reviews, and I encourage you to try it yourself!  Check out our store for the available Froglube items and start noticing the difference first hand.
